ĐÀ LẠT — As many as 20,000 music lovers flocked to Lâm Viên Square in Đà Lạt City in the central province of Lâm Đồng to swing to hits by musical legends Boney M, Joy Band and Samantha Fox during the Dalat Spring Concert 2024. 

The concert, held on December 21, is the first annual international music project in Đà Lạt following international format standards. It was organised by the Lâm Đồng Provincial People's Committee, in collaboration with IB Group. 

It aims to promote the image of the city as a UNESCO-recognised Creative City of Music and aims to position it as a premier global music destination.  

The international-level performances by legendary artists from the 70s and 80s kept the audience on their feet with the timeless disco hits such as Daddy Cool, Feliz Navidad, Touch by Touch and Touch Me. Notably, this was the first time the dapper gentlemen of Joy Band brought the song Cô gái Việt Nam – Vietnamese Girl to the public on an outdoor stage amid the picturesque nature of Đà Lạt. 

According to the organisers, the Dalat Spring Concert 2024 will kick off a series of annual international concerts in Đà Lạt. Following the opening performances by Boney M. Liz Mitchell, Joy and Samantha Fox, future years will feature other music legends on its stage. 

These programmes are completely free, serving as a gift from Đà Lạt – Lâm Đồng to residents and visitors, providing a top-tier music experience and asserting Đà Lạt as a premier global music destination. — VNS
