HA NOI (VNS) — Vietnamese Grandmaster Le Quang Liem has entered the semi-final round of the ongoing Millionaire Chess tournament in Las Vegas in the United States.

Liem drew with Filippino Wesley So, former champion, in the seventh match early on October 12, Ha Noi time.

The Vietnamese player ranks second with six points. The other semi-finalists are GM Yu Yangyi of China, GM Aleksandr Lenderman and GM Hikaru Nakamura of the host country.

The semi-final and final rounds will be organised late on October 12 and early on October 13.

Liem, seen as a title contender, finished 23^rd last year. — VNS
