BẮC NINH — The first National Mix Martial Arts Club Championships will feature more than 300 fighters competing from March 23-30 in Bắc Ninh Province.
The event is one of activities to celebrate the 80th year of Traditional Day of the national Sport Industry on March 27, 1946-2026.
Athletes from 20 cities and provinces along with members of the armed forces have confirmed their participation.
Among them are national elite martial artists such as Nguyễn Vũ Quỳnh Hoa, Dương Thị Thanh Bình, Bạch Văn Nghĩa, Nguyễn Tiến Long and Hà Thế Anh who are registered fighters of the Lion Championship, the national largest MMA series.
According to the Việt Nam MMA Federation (VMMAF), many national champions and outstanding athletes of different martial arts genres boxing, muaythai and jujitsu will also join the event, promising high quality bouts.
They will compete in the traditional and modern MMA disciplines in age groups ranging from U14 to over-18.
VMMAF said it was an important mark of the sport as it was the first national event which would be applied Asian MMA Federation's regulation.
The tournament was expected to push the national MMA movement and filter talented fighters for the national teams who will compete in the Asian championships in Uzbekistan in May. — VNS
