HA NOI  (VNS) — Coach Toshiya Miura has called upon two new recruits and many young players to join his 23-member list in preparation for the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Chinese Taipei.

Recruits are striker Hoang Dinh Tung of Thanh Hoa and goalkeeper Nguyen Tuan Manh of Sanna Khanh Hoa.

With 13 goals scored in the ongoing National Premier League, Tung is considered one of best scorers in the league.

This is the first time Tung and Manh have called in the national team under the guidance of Japanese coach Miura.

Some U20 players were also called because of their progress over the past year, such as defender Bui Tien Dung of Hoang Anh Gia Lai, midfielders Do Duy Manh of Ha Noi T&T and Nguyen Huu Dung of Thanh Hoa.

The rest of the list includes familiar names, such as strikers Le Cong Vinh of Binh Duong and Nguyen Van Quyet of Ha Noi T&T, as well as midfielder Pham Thanh Luong of Ha Noi T&T.

Viet Nam will meet Chinese Taipei on September 8 at Municipal Stadium. — VNS
