HÀ NỘI — Vocalist Võ Hạ Trâm has been officially selected as the promotional ambassador in Việt Nam for the upcoming Indian epic movie 'Ramayana: The Legend Begins'.

Beyond being the face of this US$500 million cinematic campaign, the singer will act as a cultural bridge, bringing India’s rich heritage closer to Vietnamese audiences.

The announcement was made ahead of the film's highly anticipated release in the Vietnamese market in early November 2026. This milestone marks a thoughtful approach by the distributors, who chose a Vietnamese artist with a genuine connection to Indian culture rather than relying solely on mainstream celebrity status.

With her professional vocal training, extensive stage experience and deep appreciation for Indian heritage, Võ Hạ Trâm is uniquely positioned to convey the movie’s profound narrative to cinema-goers.

Expressing her excitement, Trâm shared that she felt immensely proud to introduce Indian culture to Vietnamese audiences. She revealed that immediately after accepting the role, she shared the news with her husband and her in-laws in India. Her family members expressed their enthusiastic support and are eager to help her dive deeper into the original tales of the Ramayana epic.

According to Trâm, India is not just her husband’s homeland but also holds a very special place in her family’s daily life. Partnering with the film carries a deep personal significance, while opening up a new opportunity for her to continue what she has always pursued in her music: connecting the two nations through art.

Ramayana: The Legend Begins is adapted from the world-famous Indian epic, following Prince Rama (played by Ranbir Kapoor) and his ultimate battle against the demon king Ravana (played by Yash). Transcending the classic battle between good and evil, the film explores timeless themes of love, loyalty, duty, and sacrifice – values deeply embedded in Indian culture that easily resonate with global audiences.

The grand-scale project features a star-studded crew, including director Nitesh Tiwari (famed for Dangal), producer Namit Malhotra (head of the renowned VFX company DNEG), and the legendary composing duo Hans Zimmer and A. R. Rahman. With a total budget of US$500 million for the two-part film, the project stands out as one of India's most ambitious cinematic productions to date.

Võ Hạ Trâm has been a prominent name in the Vietnamese music industry from a very young age. She claimed the first prize at the Ngôi sao tiếng hát truyền hình (Television Singing Star) competition in 2007 at just 17 years old. Throughout her enduring career, her exceptional vocal technique and ability to master demanding songs have firmly defined her performance style.

Her notable cultural shift began with The Love Journey music project in 2023, inspired by the bond between Vietnamese and Indian cultures.

The music videos were filmed in Rajasthan, India, showcasing the country's breathtaking landscapes, traditional costumes, and vibrant choreography.

Following its success, her subsequent releases, Chiếc Lá Vô Tình (The Accidental Leaf) and Hoa Cỏ Mùa Xuân (Spring Blossoms), continued to beautifully blend Vietnamese music with rich Indian cultural elements. — VNS
