The Ethnic Khmer New Year, Chol Chnam Thmay, will be
featured at the Southern Land food festival, held at Dam Sen Park in
HCM City from May 29 to June 1.
A beauty contest to highlight women wearing ao dai
(Vietnamese traditional long dresses) will open the second Ao Dai
Festival in HCM City''s Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11 on March 7.
Fireworks displays will take place from HCM City''s
tallest building, Bitexco (on Hai Trieu Street, District 1), and Dam Sen
Cultural Park in District 11 on New Year''s Eve. The displays will last
15 minutes starting at midnight on December 31.
HCM City cultural centres and art troupes are set to
put on a slew of shows to celebrate the annual Buddhist holiday of Vu
Lan, an event that eulogises motherly love celebrated through the
seventh lunar month which began on Sunday.
The annual cuisine festival Dat Phuong Nam (Southern
Land) with more than 100 local dishes will be held from May 29 to June 1
at Dam Sen Park in HCM City''s District 11.
Designs of ao dai (Vietnamese traditional long dresses) from top fashion
designers will be presented at the first Ao Dai Festival to be held at
Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11 on March 8- 9.
