Many traditional folk games once faced the risk of disappearing amid modern life and new forms of entertainment. However, joint efforts by the Government, the cultural sector and communities are reviving them, helping preserve cultural identity and strengthen community bonds.
Khmer ethnic people yesterday began celebrating Sene Dolta, the
traditional festival held to worship ancestors, one of their most
important events of the year.
Traditional festivals will be organised more carefully to improve safety
and orderliness, participants at a recent workshop on the management of
public celebrations heard.
