HÀ NỘI — Thai traditional dances and Muaythai martial arts made up a vibrant opening ceremony of the Thai Festival in Hà Nội at the Imperial Citadel of Thăng Long on March 27 night.
Themed 'Creative Life and Creative Heartbeat', the second event which was organised by the Royal Thai Embassy, opens to the public from 10am to 9pm with free admission until March 29.
It was one of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Việt Nam (August 6, 1976 - 2026), a long-standing friendship that has been built through culture, creativity, and people-to-people exchange.
Speaking at the ceremony, Thai Ambassador to Việt Nam Urawadee Sriphiromya said that relations between Thailand and Việt Nam reached an important milestone as the two countries were Comprehensive Strategic Partners, built on a foundation of trust, respect, and mutual understanding.

This event was organised to deepen the relationship between the two countries, enhance Vietnamese people's understanding of Thailand and through many distinctive aspects such as culture, cuisine, creativity, and lifestyle.
She added that this year's event also honoured the legacy of late Queen Mother Sirikit, who dedicated her life to preserving and developing traditional Thai art and culture, particularly the creation of eight traditional Thai costumes.
The ambassador invited people to enjoy a performance of traditional Thai and Vietnamese costumes, visit the Sala Thai booth to admire traditional Thai attire, and watch a demonstration of traditional Thai hand-painting on fabric.
Attending the event, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tạ Quang Đông said the festival was a meaningful bridge connecting the two nations, reinforcing their commitment to stronger ties for mutual benefit and regional peace and prosperity.
