HCM CITY – A reality TV show featuring a journey of Vietnamese artists to explore the country is going viral on social media in Việt Nam.

The show entitled Gia Đình Haha, a Vietnamese version of Chinese show Haha Farmer, is produced by Việt Nam Television (VTV) and Yeah1 Production.

The work features singers Jun Phạm and Duy Khánh, songwriter Bùi Công Nam, rapper Rhymastic and actress Ngọc Thanh Tâm who discover the beauty of landscapes and the daily life of people in rural areas of northern and central Việt Nam.

It also highlights the beauty of the land, the diligent and kind people, cute animals, and particularly the love for the country.

The show is currently broadcast at 8pm every Saturday on VTV3 channel, beginning on June 14.

Its first two episodes became the most-watched show on the channel during prime time.

The show has attracted tens of millions of views on the YouTube channel Yeah1 Show and is listed on the top trending chart of YouTube Vietnam.

In the first three episodes, the group travels to Liền Village in the northern mountainous province of Lào Cai and lives and works with the family of a local woman named Thông.

They plough paddy fields with buffaloes, harvest tea, cassava and bamboo shoots, catch fish and go to the local market. After a day, they return home, cook dinner and share funny stories.

Jun Phạm said the show sends healing and entertaining messages.

He shared that he could cook a little bit, so he became a head chef, and the others are sous chefs. “I feel pressure because it looks like cooking for a party.”

Nguyễn Ngọc Hân of Đồng Nai Province said, “the show is funny and truly healing. All the cast and local people are lovely, and the nature is magnificent. It makes me feel comfortable after stressful days.”

Apart from episodes aired on TV, the producers have uploaded extra videos on the journey on YouTube every Friday night. – VNS
