ĐÀ NẴNG — The film Love in Vietnam, the first cinematic co-production between Việt Nam and India, premiered on July 1 in the central city of Đà Nẵng as part of the third Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF 2025).

Directed by Indian filmmaker Rahhat Shah Kazmi and shot at various locations across Đà Nẵng, including the Furama –Ariyana tourism complex, the project marks a step forward in cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyễn Thị Hội An said the film carries the message of “bringing Vietnamese stories to the world” and reflects the harmonious blend of the two nations’ cinematic industries.

She noted that Đà Nẵng’s natural beauty, hospitality, and unique identity continue to make the city an attractive destination for international film projects.

An added that using cinema to promote culture and tourism aligns with Đà Nẵng’s strategic goals to enhance the city’s global image, boost visitor numbers, and foster international cooperation in creative industries.

The film follows a young Punjabi man who comes to Việt Nam and falls in love with a mysterious Vietnamese artist, leading to a dramatic love triangle. The story unfolds against vibrant scenes of Đà Nẵng’s beaches, landmarks, and cultural spaces.

According to Nguyễn Đức Quỳnh, Vice Chairman of the Đà Nẵng Tourism Association, the choice of culturally rich filming locations like Tàya House and Furama Resort adds authenticity and highlights Việt Nam’s potential as a destination for international film production.

The screening not only showcased Đà Nẵng’s appeal as a film location but also strengthened industry ties between Việt Nam and India, in line with DANAFF’s role as a platform for cultural exchange and global creative collaboration. VNA/VNS
