HẢI PHÒNG — The port city of Hải Phòng is set to host the Asian Rowing Championships 2025 from October 11 to 19, welcoming top rowers from across Asia.

The event will feature 232 athletes, together with officials and coaches from 18 countries.

Nguyễn Hải Đường, Vice President and Secretary General of the Việt Nam Rowing and Sailing Federation, said preparations in Hải Phòng are nearly complete, confirming Việt Nam is ready to host international competitors.

The championships will comprise 40 events — 20 for men and 20 for women — organised by the Asian Rowing Federation in collaboration with the Việt Nam Canoeing Rowing and Sailing Federation.

At the previous edition in Uzbekistan in 2024, Việt Nam won two gold medals, two silvers and three bronzes, finishing fourth in the overall medal standings. — VNS
