The 60-year-old Lim was previously the club’s youth team manager for seven months. He is also a lecturer at football coach training courses in Viet Nam.
Lim will be assisted by local coaches Duc Canh and Nhu Thuan, who took care of the team after Brazilian Edson Tavares was fired last week.
“Ninh Binh can not run well without a coach,” said Tran Tien Dai, Ninh Binh’s executive director. “It is the reason why we invited Lim. We believe in him and hope to get high results because he is excellent in technique and understands Vietnamese football.”

Becamex Binh Duong have been named in the 10 best football clubs in Asia by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics.
With 99.5 points, the V-League side is placed higher than regional powerhouses Kashimar Atlers and Kawasaki Frontake of Japan and FC Seoul and Suwon Samsung of South Korea.
The federation also ranks Binh Duong 151st among 350 best clubs of the world. In this list, the Vietnamese former champions are ranking higher than European Schalke 04, Hertha Berlin of Germany and Italy’s Napoli.
Chess masters to play in Russia’s Aeroflot Open
Chess masters Le Quang Liem and Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son will compete at the Aeroflot Open in Russia from February 8-19.
The Vietnamese registered in the A1 category for the masters competition, whose rating is from 2,550 up. They will face strong rivals from China, Ukraine and the host teams.
The winners of this category will receive 21,000 euros (US$30,000), 12,000 euros and 7,000 euros respectively. The annual Aeroflot Open attracts many of the best chess masters of world. — VNS
